Just a basic step-by-step (layer-by-layer) of how I colored in: [link] Should be used by the curious who already have an understanding of Photoshop, as I am not that accurate in explaining tools etc. Each new note is a new layer on Multiply Mode.

1. Basic lineart by: Elysumii [link] . As with any lineart, there are some lines and blemishes (sometimes from actual scanning) that you might not want. Erase those lines (and you'll get the transparency grid). All you have to do is make a new layer that's all white, and that will show through as if no blemishes are there.

2. Colored in the hair where needed. Star as well.

3. Skin tones. Used pinks and light greys to adjust light levels.

4. Added white highlights where light bounces off hair and star.

5. Added in the sky using various shades of blue and Blur tool to give details. Dodge tool is very useful here as well (the sun).

6. Overall shading to the picture, including details on clouds and anywhere else shadows were needed.
