Salmon Carving

Final for Carving class that had to connect to a story I made up. Basically, the story was Salmon goes up river and gives his scales to the Magician Brothers (Wind, etc.) so that it would snow once a year to fight against the warm sun.

Symbolism

Tail becomes mountain where Wind (Raven head) lives. The cleft in the tail doubles as the river. The background was scraped out to look like ripples. The salmon was carved in a way that it looks like its popping out of the grain
